Fortnite players using Shuri’s Black Panther Claws are experiencing a severe bug that is sending them soaring into the sky. Although the bug appears to be completely random, Fortnite players are blasting Epic Games as this is just the latest issue that has been present in the game since the release of Chapter 5 Season 4 on August 16.

With Epic Games once again teaming up with Marvel for another superhero-themed season, Fortnite has seen a plethora of new weapons and items added to the game that are straight out of a Marvel movie or comic book. From Captain America’s Shield to Shuri’s Black Panther Claws, Chapter 5 Season 4, also known as Absolute Doom, has completely mixed up the game’s meta. Unfortunately, many of the new Fortnite items have seen substantial nerfs since the new content update first launched, which is just one of the many controversies that have arisen during the season.

Alongside constant nerfs and Doctor Doom’s ridiculously overpowered Fortnite weapons, players are now experiencing a frustrating bug that is sending them soaring into the sky. Over on Reddit, one user posted a short clip of them using Shuri’s Black Panther Claws and attempting to use the pounce ability to jump forward. Unfortunately, as they activated the ability, they were teleported to the very top of the island. Thankfully, they didn’t experience any fall damage as they came hurtling back down to the island, but it did put them out of action for well over a minute.

The post clearly resonated with the community, as other avid Fortnite players revealed that they had encountered the exact same bug. Reddit user GalickGunn said that they had the same thing happen to them two weeks ago when they were playing with their son. They explained that there was only one team remaining, but when they used the pounce ability it shot them into the sky. Thankfully, their son managed to finish the job and pick up the victory royale. Another user, known as doomsoul909, said that they encountered the bug while doing a “claws only” challenge.

It’s not the first time Fortnite players have experienced a bug with a Marvel weapon, and it likely won’t be the last. While there’s no way to know for sure what’s causing this frustrating bug, one Reddit user speculated that the issue is related to server desynchronization. They explained that the server likely couldn’t determine the players’ exact position in time, so defaulted to setting the location to 0, which is where the battle bus spawns at the beginning of the game.
